Aurora Vargas and Miguel Salado
Aurora Vargas was born “for” the world of flamenco in the Sevillian neighborhood of Macarena, although in her blood mix singing and dancing dynasties from Cádiz, Sevilla, and Extremadura. Sister of Changuito, aunt of Potito, and cousin of the great dancer from Triana, Isidro Vargas. She is sultan of rhythm and grace, muse of the dark goblins, and twist of the gypsy singing of Seville and she has been one of the great celebrants of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. An artist with an overwhelming personality that made her indispensable on the posters of the main flamenco festivals. She will appear on the balcony of the city hall accompanied by the guitar of Jerez’s own Miguel Salado, whose toque (playing), always in rhythm and the sound of his land, will weave a velvet carpet through which Aurora Vargas’ singing will pass.
