Emilio Caracafé
Emilio Fernández de los Santos is a living legend from the Sevillian neighbourhood of Polígono Sur. The alma mater and cornerstone of the Alalá School, whose Foundation has been distinguished in this edition of the festival. The name Caracafé (coffee face) comes from his daughter who, at only 3 years old, named him that. The girl had a stuffed animal she called by that name. One day she approached her father, caressed him, and said, “Oh, my Caracafé!” And from that precise moment, Emilio became the sweetest roasted coffee bean of the gipsies. He is a guitarist of recognized prestige who throughout his professional career has accompanied artists such as Niña Pastori, Pepe de Lucía, Manuel Molina, or Manzanita. Although he became known to the world of flamenco and the national and international music scene as a regular member of Pata Negra. He has composed the soundtracks for three films and has accompanied even Israel Galván himself. He is artistically restless and tremendously multifaceted.
