Gerardo Núñez and Álvaro Martinete

Gerardo Nuñez has been one of the outstanding students of the Jerez master, Rafael del Águila. He was already accompanying renowned singers like Tío Gregorio el Borrico, Terremoto, and La Paquera de Jerez by the age of fourteen. Not long after, he became highly sought after as a studio guitarist, laying down tracks for artists such as El Turronero, Pansequito, and El Moro, also known as El Indio Gitano. However, his international fame really took off following his performances as a concert guitarist at numerous jazz festivals. Notably, this began with his involvement in a guitar quartet alongside Enrico Rava, Alex de Grassi, and Briam Gare. Throughout his illustrious career, he has collaborated with artists like Eberhard Weber and Richard Galliano, John Patitucci, Danilo Pérez, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, Strunz & Farah, and Perico Sambeat.

He will be coming to Pamplona accompanied by the young Granada-born guitarist Álvaro Martinete, with whom he has developed a close collaborative relationship since producing his debut album, "Seis Veredas.” (Six paths). Nowadays, he juggles his career as a concert guitarist with his roles as a composer and guitarist for La Moneta’s company.
