"Del vino de jerez y sus cantes II"

‘Del vino de jerez y sus cantes II' is an original wine tasting that started in the last edition, repeats in 2024, and harmonises the organoleptic characteristics of the wines of Jerez with the flamenco styles that are akin to it by nature. That is, synesthesia. Beyond colours, aromas, and textures, between the songs and their wines, a dialogue as magical as it is profound, occurs. “The experience manages to establish bridges where the quejío (flamenco singing) becomes amber in the glass, and the wines lend themselves to be heard”. A true explosion for the senses that allows us to enjoy, in the first person, the crossing of two cultures united in time and essence.

José María Castaño, director of Los Caminos del Cante and Authorized Trainer of the Wines of Jerez by the Jerez – Xerez – Sherry Regulatory Council, leads the tasting. Luis Moneo will sing, belonging to a saga of singers from Jerez, hence the stylistic line of his voice: expressive, rhythmic, without excesses. He is family of the mythical Pedro Niño Moneo “El Brujo,” Manuel Moneo, or his brother El Torta, he is the last link of a golden and unrepeatable time forged in the Barrio de San Miguel. His singing is direct, without unnecessary adornments, a luxury in these times. With his son, Juan Manuel Moneo, his usual guitar accompaniment, they form a pair that escapes pretence and arguments because they are unnecessary before a song that rules by right.
